How to Revise with P5 Maths Exam Papers
- Check the assessment scope. Choose questions that match your child’s school topic list.
- Attempt the paper independently. Allow approximately 45 minutes for a complete paper.
- Show clear working. Write calculations, draw models where helpful and include units.
- Review the worked solutions. Compare the method as well as the final answer.
- Identify the cause of each mistake. Look for calculation errors, misunderstood concepts or missed information.
- Redo difficult questions. Attempt them again without referring to the answers.
For fraction problems, identify whether the fraction refers to the original quantity or the remainder. For triangle area, use the perpendicular height. For percentage questions, check the amount on which the percentage is calculated.
If a full paper feels difficult, start with selected questions on familiar topics before progressing to timed practice.
